My DVR is really annoying and having glitches and jumps all over the place here.
Anyways, why are they making Claire look so boring lately? Her hair seriously sucks. I realize Hayden P got a short haircut over the summer and it’s growing out, but by now, really, I think you can do something better than that awful ponytail and the terrible hairdo from when she was running around saving Alex.
And….what’s with Sylar’s hankering for a Big Jim hot dog?
Go Claire’s mom for being better at the game than Claire, and better than her husband thought she was! She proved that last half of the season in the Meredith-Puppetmaster scenarion, I’d say. Let’s see Mom and Mr. Muggles kick a little ass.
Wait wait wait. Peter doesn’t need skin contact to take powers? That means everytime he’s touched ANYONE AT ALL he’s been taking their powers. Since we saw from the opening of Volume 4 that he can’t control taking their powers when he touches them. UGH. Or but now he can, now that it’s convenient. Why couldn’t you just have had him take Parkman’s hand when he did that? At last they’re using the mental powers intelligently for once.
And Lyle’s existence as a plot point only being so ragingly obvious here was great. And go Mrs. Bennett being all bad-ass and subversive! See, Claire, you can learn something from your mother who raised you. Her mom’s quickly seeming like the most real person on this show.
I thought Sylar was given away as a baby. Now all these repressed memories of–WOAH. Okay, that kid is like…at least 5 if not older, and yet Sylar didn’t remember this until now? Seriously? Ticking clocks for the toy car. Watch out toy car, your head is SO coming off.
Haha, shockingly the geek boy is a hottie. Go you, Claire, it’s nice to see you acting like a teenager again. Also, he doesn’t look different enough to pass as a totally different person. Also, ouch, calling her special? Bad move, I would’ve thought. I do however like this guy SO MUCH BETTER THAN WEST. Is the dark-haired agent the much talked of Rachel Mills?
Haha! Matt yelling out Daphne at everything sounds like Michael on Lost yelling “Walt?!” all the time. And since when do external distractions work so effectively on disrupting Parkman’s ability? It makes sense, but HRG says it like we’ve seen it before when we haven’t.
And…this whole series of Sylar flashbacks are really NOT doing it for me. Interesting to see where Sylar gets the slice the head open thing, kind of, but…the musical choice is just really jarring, and trying to have the half-faded out image of adult Sylar in some shots is cliche. I still don’t buy Sylar forgetting all of this and never having suspicions of not being his adoptive parents child when he couldn’t remember the first 5 or so years of his life.
And the agents watching the Bennetts fall for the classic mislead. You got your top people there, huh? Oh for the love of God, the guy falls on girl set-up, really? At least they didn’t go all the way to the make-outs and forget all about the life-threatening situation going on. Lady, really, you’re not gonna look in the pool? Aww, underwater kiss t save Claire’s life. And also from her bubbles of air giving them away. And at least she passed the flashlight over the water briefly. (I think the full-on underwater make out would negate the breathing benefit with the water intake, but uh…okay. I know, I know…logic, here, what?)
Hm. And I have to agree with Peter not being a terrorist here. Oh–gees, way to frak it up by not listening Peter…ahh, but Nathan finally gives in on his good guy urges. Still the wishy-washiest of all “bad guys”, but eh, this is more like him at least.
Shouldn’t they be surprised about Peter’s ability working differently and him not healing now? Haha, Petrelli men really need to stop falling for the hug trick!
Aw, no, don’t kill the sidekick, Sylar. I mean, I know it’s what he does, but…oh, hey, he’s not killing him! Good for him. Heh, create a fellow villain, and then leave him to simmer. Check back in a few years to see if he’s done baking!
Ohhh….I see your game, Hunter. Clever! Doesn’t look good for Parkman, though. Or DC.
That’s right, Claire. Your mom is totally incredible!
AND WHAT THE FRAK! Did ANYONE die in that damn explosions? Seriously?!! Look, as awesomely evil as the Puppet Master was, he should be dead!! UGH. Just when I was liking your episode this week a little bit, too. Dammit Heroes!
1) Per Claire’s hair-it used to be fucking awesome in season one. I don’t understand why they can’t embrace the short cut and do something awesome with that. It’s not like teenaged girls don’t go to the Salon.
2)I’m really curious–and this is what I was hoping Cold Wars would be more about–about who HRG was before the Company. Sandra described him as “dangerous” when she met him, but that wouldn’t describe Paper Company Cover Man–you know? What made the two of them hook up to start with? What made Noah join the Company? I mean, how did normals get recruited? Obviously if you have a power, the Company’s going to tag, cage or recruit you, but how did they supply the other half?
3) Arthur didn’t need to skin touch Peter to suck his powers out, ‘member? But Arthur could still touch people without sucking powers. I’m guessing that once developed it becomes a conscious choice. Otherwise, agreed and WTFHWR?? (WTFHWR=”What the fuck Heroes writers room”, my new Heroes curse word)
4) A few episodes ago Sylar remembered being pulled in a wagon by his biodad. That’s toddler shit, so at that point, we knew that he wasn’t an infant. Also, in the writers defense here, early childhood memories vary from person to person. I’ve found that I actually have much clearer early childhood memories than most people–a LOT of people can’t remember anything before 6, which I can’t comprehend. That said, I, the girl with tons of vivid memories from 2-6, learned a few years ago that I have repressed memories of my grandmother’s death. I actually remember something entirely different–waking up and finding out she was in the hospital–than what actually happened–she moaned and wailed in one of our family beds and grabbed at me and I ran away crying. It’s this fucking black spot in my otherwise amazing memory. Why? Because it disturbed the shit out of me and my mind created a different scenario to cope. Adults’ minds do that and kids’ minds are notorious for doing that. It’s a survival thing. Though, I would like confirmation on the age of sold Sylar. I’m guessing 4 or 5??
5) Why don’t more boys in comic book stores look like this?!?! Also, big improvement on West, but I don’t want to see this become a relationship.
6) That is the actress who played Rachel Mills. Whether she is Rachel Mills hasn’t been confirmed. I’d love it though if she was but she is Angela’s other undercover person in the operation. Like this whole time, Danko is not only working with Nathan who has powers, and Bennet who is playing him, but there are actual sleeper agents ready to fucking turn at Angela’s command. I love Angela. I wish the show was all about her manipulating people, wearing expensive coats and stealing socks.
7) I am sad because next week they will tease Parkman blowing up, but he won’t. I want him to and then I want Daphne to marry Ando.
8) I actually dug the Fleetwood Mac in the flashbacks, but yeah, the floating head was stupid. I could understand it all even more if he used the clairsentience he stole from Bridget at the start of Season 3 to channel his memories through the car–and then we got a full on flashback. Ya know? Minus floating head.
9) Rachel Mills totally knew where Alex was in the closet (she kicked the trap door) and in the pool. For she is Rachel Mills and she is playing you all!!!!
10) Aw, Nathan has a heart. I actually feel bad for Pasdar because I think he’s actually one of the stronger actors on the show and they are doing to him this season what they did to Quinto last volume: let’s change his motivation in every episode. Nay! every scene! bwahaaha! WTFHWR?!?!
11) So…we’ve got another Sylar on tap if this Sylar goes soft/morally ambiguous hero? okay.
12) I love you, Hunter, if only the show did too. Then maybe Parkman could blow up and our mutual dream could come true.
13) The puppetmaster was creepy and it’s not a bad thing imo that they saved one of the more scary villains from last year. I am awaiting the Primatech fire flashback that will explain EVERYTHING! Including the smoke monster from Lost. That will be a literary tour de force. WTFHWR?
Okay, let’s get replyin’!
1) I know, right?
2) That would be more interesting, but I somehow doubt they’ll ever show us all of that. I don’t doubt that, whatever his supposed job at the time, HRG had some air of danger to him that she picked up on back then.
3) Well Papa Petrelli did, yeah, but so far Peter hasn’t had to do that. I don’t know, it’s just one of those small tidbits of continuity frakking up that irritates me. On a better show, I’d let it slide, but the inconsistency on this one annoys me too much to do that.
4) I could accept that Sylar was suddenly only remember his waaaay younger years in bits and pieces: realizing that a wagon ride had been with his father, not his “father”, etc. A two-year-old’s memory being spotty makes sense, whereas a kid who’s 5 or 6 or whatever forgetting EVERYTHING from before that in his childhood and never realizing that until just now, some 25-odd years later? That’s less believable for me.
5) I KNOW! Srsly. I imagine we’ll see Alex again, though. So far I don’t mind, I like him.
6) What’s Rachel Mills’ power?
7) And, again, I know. Totally. Just blow him up already.
8 ) I got the impression the psychometry he nabbed only works on people. I don’t know, it just…the clanky country-sounding music and the dramatic scene of being sold and then seeing his real mom killed, it killed the scene for me. The music was distracting instead of adding to the moment or heightening it. I think it was an awful choice, personally.
10) Yeah, Nathan is getting the wheel or morality treatment. I could never buy his being an all-out bad guy, or buy into the motivations he supposedly had for doing all of this. And yet again, rather than making a bold choice to make a known character the bad guy, they wuss out on him and bring in some random other guy to be the bad guy (Hunter).
11) Apparently. I’m not yet convinced he could be a Sylar Jr. so to speak, but then again, see also #10. Believability hasn’t stopped them before!
13) Puppet Master was totally great and creepy as a bad guy. But he should be dead! It frakking ridiculous how many people made it out the freaking building blowing up! Him showing up is ridiculous BS that pisses me off.
I agree, Mrs. Bennett does kick ass. Now we just need to find out that Mr. Muggles used to be some sort of police dog and we could have a Muggles and Mom: PI spinoff.
YEah, wow, Rachel Mills, she better be important with all the build up they’ve been trying to give her in the commercials and stuff. And I think she can teleport, according to the Heroes Wiki.
I would have liked it better if the Hunter said to Nathan, “Peter’s a terrorist because you made him one.” Finally Nathan see’s what a mistake he’s made, but it’s too late to fix things. Good thing we have Angela manipulating things. Ha, this episode should have been called, “Old Ladies are Smarter than you Think.”
I liked The Puppeteer, but he should come back as a villain. Of course, they’ll probably use him to take over The President or The Hunter to fix things in the end of the season to rest things to status quo.
